Greetings. I’m Peter Schuyler.

This is the short history of my career as a theatrical artist. Since 2nd grade, I have been acting, singing, or performing on the stage in some capacity, pandemics notwithstanding. I learned the fundamentals at Northern Arizona University in opera and theatre performance followed by what I choose to consider my unofficial MFA working for the now lamentably defunct AZTheatreWorks and the Grand Canyon Shakespeare Festival, under the tutelage of Wayne Watkins and Liz Faulkner.

I left the Southwest for NYC in 2001, and spent the next 10 years in the independent theatre scene, working with La Mama E.T.C., Immediate Theater, DMTheatrics, as a producing board member of NativeAliens, and a producing member of Dysfunctional Theatre. Concurrent ot this was a stint writing theatre criticism for Maritn Denton’s nytheatre.com, and managing the Operations and Customer Service department for Dramatists Play Service.

2011 found me leaving NYC for Portland, Oregon. From 2014 to 2022 I was a Resident Artist of Bag&Baggage Productions, having performed, produced, or directed more than 15 shows for the company. I have the distinct pleasure of being a founding member of No Filter Improv and have performed for numerous companies including triangle productions!, Lakewood Theatre, Northwest Classical, Northwest Children’s Theater, and FUSE Theatre Ensemble.

When not on stage I can be found kayaking the waterways of the PNW, reading the works of WB Yeats, and enjoying time with my incredible wife and the boisterous genius of my daughter.
